Of Webs and Life

The road of life… Sometimes you have a settled path and life takes in an unexpected route.
Choices deviate.
We are all part of the web, what we do with that makes us unique.

Thanks Erin for Zendala Dare #78.

Inhale... Exhale

May is a blur for me. Camping with friends, came home sick for a few days. My Grandfather ( age 93 ) passed. Spent a week with Grandma in SC. Home for a couple days and then off on a family vacation to New Orleans for a week. Most of the travels meant I did not have full internet access.

Here is the one photo I have of the several Zendalas drawn to meet the various dares that have all gone on to their loved ones. This was for our wonderful hostess / tour guide for NOLA. She brought us gardenias, too.

Zendala Dare 57 from Erin at The Bright Owl.
Not much contrast from me in this one,
but sometimes life is like that... just going along, day by day.

Catching up with Zendalas

I've been out of town and unplugged, but still tangling.
Five Zendalas made their way to other homes with nary a look back and no final photo.
Unplugging felt really good.

Now I'm home and fully linked. Mother's day is just around the corner and these two go to moms.

The Bright Owl dares for Templates 56 and 55.
Both were done with Micron .01 and lots of pencil shading.
In the case of 56 this did not meet the dare extra challenge.

Ray's Monotangle Adventure challenge for the week is Onomato.
Thanks Ray. I needed some repetition.

Zendala From the Center for Stephanie

The Bright Owl challenge this week with Template # 54. Erin created a really fun different one this time (and every time really. I think I can say this is my new favorite Every Week :-)

You're a star Diva Dare #114

What a very strange week.
My heart goes out to all affected through the many tragedies this week brought.

Laura's Diva Dare for the week was to use a star (any number of points).
This is mine.
May it shine through.

Karen's Swirl Zendala Dare 53

Erin at The Bright Owl's Zendala Dare #53 was an interesting template all on its own. I could see so many possibilities.

Then some curls, rinse. Repeat.

112 Diva Dare with Tuxedo

First Monday Diva Dare brought Use My Tangle from LeeAnn.
Sliding this post in a bit late as the week got away from me with schedules, travels and appointments.

With Bells On for Laura Zendala #52

The Bright Owl dare this week included many circles. I embrace those circles and turning them into the flowers they want to be (in this case) as are in many of my tiles (I'm seeing a theme here). The actual challenge was to overlay Hollibaugh somewhere over the tile as a string. Did I do it "correctly"? Jury out on that one...

Recipe:  Ndeble, Phicops, Hollibaugh, and Stiritup. Add a touch of turmeric. Underlay each and look through the oven window.

New Growth for Dad, Zendala Dare #51

While this template from Erin at The Bright Owl may look mildly familiar, I think my take on it looks different from its cousin. What do you think?

Recipe: Freshly tilled earth. pushing against the edges. A bit of Rick's Paradox, Ynix, the start of Zander, some this and that with Zinger as a garnish.

Diva Dare #111 Monotangle Mooka

Surprisingly this is my second monotangle for Mooka this week. I did one here over the weekend in response to Ray's Monotangle Adventure and the template he provided. Then Monday morning Laura presented this challenge. Funny/weird.

Zendala Dare 50: Growing Pains for Wendy

Erin at the Bright Owl Blogspot offered up Template 50 this weekend.
I started with the center and moved out from there.

Outside which box? Diva Dare

Laura over at I am the Diva issued the 110th challenge this week - think outside the box. I still boxed this one but left the white tile in the holder and went for the black, then I picked up my sparkly Gellys and did some basics. Shading is interesting... it would not rub out as much as the grey pencils. Otherwise it was fun.

Mooka Monotangle

Ray over at Mindful Creations had a template this week as his Monotangle Adventure #3.
I drew it out and Mooka seemed to want to flow in.

New Adventures/Monotangle

Roy at Mindful creations has started Adventures in Monotangles with the challenge to return to the basics this week.

I had some fun with a square string divided into squares, then playing with Tripoli, a tangle I have yet to master ;-)

Variations on Tesali

Variations 1-5

Tesali was designed by Elena Hadzijaneva. (or look here)

I am intrigued by Tesali and the various permutations of it, not to mention the tangalation possibilities. I spent the last week playing.
